Acument-Licensed Drive Systems for Threaded Fasteners

Torx® · Torx Plus® · Autosert®

The full Acument® Torx drive family — licensed recess geometries for threaded fasteners across metal assembly applications.

Substantially longer bit life and near-zero cam-out compared to Phillips and hex — extending tool service intervals and enabling consistent torque control on robotic and manual assembly lines. Preferred across automotive programs requiring high-cycle automated driving, PPAP-controlled torque specifications, and reliable re-use across service cycles.

Why source through Way Fast

We serve Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers — primarily to North American OEM programs, including platforms shared with European and Japanese brands — with day-to-day experience handling the documentation and tolerance standards these projects demand.

01 · Multi-source capacity
Working with multiple Acument®-licensed manufacturing partners — we match each order to the best-fit production line, stabilizing lead times and cost when single-source capacity tightens.
02 · Submission-grade documentation
Full support for PPAP (Levels 1–3), IMDS submission, and RoHS / REACH documentation.
03 · Audited special-process chain
Partners certified to AIAG CQI-9 (heat treat), CQI-11 (plating), and CQI-12 (coating) — covering the full post-processing chain under audited special-process controls.
04 · Multilingual drawing review
Technical drawing review in English, German, Japanese, and Chinese — including ISO 8015 GPS callouts, JIS standards, thread tolerance classes, and coating specifications.
05 · Drive-to-fastener integration
Torx, Torx Plus, or Autosert recesses integrated into customer-specified fastener geometries — pan, flat, hex flange, or countersunk heads across the carbon-steel and alloy range.

Selecting across the Torx® drive family

Torx®
Six-lobe · baseline
The original six-lobe drive geometry (1967). Higher torque transfer and reduced cam-out compared to hex, slotted, and Phillips. Industry standard for threaded fasteners across automotive assembly, electronics, and machinery.
Torx Plus®
Optimized geometry · higher torque
Second-generation drive with refined lobe geometry — transfers higher torque and extends bit life compared to original Torx, while providing near-zero cam-out for automated driving applications.
Autosert®
Self-centering · automation
Torx Plus recess with compound-angle ramps that guide the driver bit into engagement — enables self-centering and reliable pick-up for robotic and high-cycle automated assembly lines.
Tamper-Resistant TORX® / TORX PLUS® TR
Anti-tamper · security
Available on request — center-post recess variants (6-lobe TR and 5-lobe Torx Plus TR) for applications requiring tool-restricted disassembly: ECU covers, battery pack panels, enclosure security, and regulated-access components.
