• SEMS Machine Screws with Captive Washer Pre-Assembled

    SEMS Machine Screws

Screw-and-washer assemblies — machine screws shipped with one or more captive washers pre-assembled under the head. Eliminates separate washer handling and guarantees the washer is always installed, even on high-volume automated lines.

Selected across automotive electronic modules, ECU enclosures, harness brackets, dashboard components, and mixed-material joints where a specific washer type — flat, tooth-lock, or split-lock — is required without risk of loss or substitution on the line.

    Family coverage · 4 forms

    Selecting across SEMS washer configurations

    Plain / Flat
    Most common · bearing distribution
Flat washer captive under the head — distributes clamp load and protects soft surfaces from indentation. Most common baseline SEMS configuration across automotive electronic assemblies, harness brackets, and industrial joints. Non-locking; paired with chemical thread-lock, lock nut, or prevailing-torque feature where retention is critical.
    External Tooth
    Anti-rotation · exposed teeth
Teeth on the outer rim provide maximum grip against the mating surface and the largest torsional resistance. Selected where loosening under vibration is the primary concern and the joint tolerates visible tooth marks.
    Internal Tooth
    Concealed teeth · clean surface
Teeth face inward — used where tooth marks must be hidden (visible assemblies, painted panels). Requires tight mating-hole diameter to prevent tooth miss-engagement.
    Split Lock (Helical Spring)
    High-vibration · spring tension
Split-ring geometry provides spring tension against the joint. Selected where the assembly sees continuous low-amplitude vibration. Paired with carbon or hardened spring-steel washers.

  • Prevailing-Torque Lock Nuts for Automotive Structural and Vibration Joints

    Lock Nuts

Prevailing-torque nuts — nylon-insert, all-metal distorted-thread, and K-lock designs. Lock feature prevents back-off under vibration and cyclic loading without thread-lock adhesive or secondary retention.

Broad specification coverage across DIN 982 (thin), DIN 985 (tall), DIN 6927 (all-metal prevailing-torque), JIS NE / NTE equivalents, and Keps / K-lock configurations — custom-configured per programme to customer drawing. Applications: automotive chassis, suspension, exhaust, engine accessories, and structural joints where continuous vibration or thermal cycling would loosen a standard hex nut.

05 · Lock mechanism and torque retention
Lock mechanism (nylon insert for up to ~120°C, all-metal for high-temp / re-usable, K-lock for captive-tooth retention), material grade, and finish matched per torque spec and service environment — drawing-reviewed against customer retention torque and re-use requirements. Configurations supplied per programme; established partnerships with qualified lock-nut manufacturers across DIN / JIS / ISO standards.
    Family coverage · 3 types

    Selecting across lock nut types

    Nylon Insert — DIN 985 / 982 / NE / NTE
    Baseline · temperature-sensitive
Nylon ring insert grips screw threads. Standard for ambient to moderate-temperature service (~ −50°C to +120°C). DIN 985 thin for bulk structural fastening; DIN 982 tall for higher retention. Most common lock nut type supplied through Way Fast — custom-configured in low-carbon steel, stainless, or brass per programme.
    All-Metal Prevailing-Torque — DIN 6927 / 6928 / Stover
    High-temperature · re-usable
Distorted-thread all-metal lock nut, no polymer insert. For temperatures above 120°C (engine, exhaust, turbocharger) and applications requiring multiple re-uses without loss of prevailing torque. Supplied in property class 8 / 10 grade per programme.
    K-lock / Keps
    Integrated tooth-lock washer · one-piece
Hex nut with captive external-tooth lock washer pre-assembled. Combines nut and washer in a single SKU, prevents loss and ensures consistent locking against flat bearing surfaces. Common on electrical enclosures, harness brackets, and general fastening.
